Facts
The preliminary results of a comprehensive study at the University of Birmingham document an excellent cell attachment and differentiation with multifocus filopodiae finding strong retention at the homogeneously distributed nanostructures.
Considerably increased growth of osteoblasts after
2 weeks
The strong and intensive cell attachment significantly increased the proliferation of osteoblasts as compared to the proven TPS surfaces. The study confirms a complete multi-layer cell coverage of osteoblasts after 2 weeks of cell colonization, and a nodulation as a prestage for the formation of an extracellular matrix and mineralization is documented.
A clinical evaluation confirmed this excellent healing property, and there was no horizontal bone resorption as with other implants. In a present study on immediate loading, the advancement of osseointegration in the first few weeks will be documented with histology.
